20180227-DSC_4876.jpg

Red lionfish (Pterois volitans) are considered the worst invasive species case in human history. Native to the Indian and Pacific oceans they were first spotted in the Atlantic in the 1980's. By the early 2000's they had spread like a virus through the tropcial Caribbean wreaking havoc on native fish species and ecosystems.Image made off Destin, Florida.
