A view above and below the water of Brown Pelican as it searches for food in the shallow seagrass beds near a small-scale coastal community fishing dock. Brown Pelicans are large seabird weighing approximately 6-12lbs. Their most distinguishing feature is a long beak with a hooked tip and a huge pouch. Their legs are short and all four toes are webbed. Their wing span is more than 6ft, they soar well, and often glide low over the water.
